Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 & Crowdsourcing.

On 8th March 2014 Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared whilst flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

On 17th March 2014, Digital Globe Inc. launched a crowdsourcing campaign which allowed anyone to look through satellite images to find the missing plane.

It became the world’s largest crowdsourcing effort a few days later with three million people partaking.

‘The Wisdom of Crowds’ may be the idea behind this crowdsourcing effort as it has been said that a crowd of people guessing an accurate location would be more beneficial than a few individuals.
